This scheme is one of the animal husbandry schemes started by the Government of Gujarat. The main objective of this scheme is to give importance to the business of pastoralists and to create a pillar of employment in the village. To further boost the animal husbandry business at the village level through economic incentives to double the income of pastoralists by the year 2022 through this scheme. The bank provides interest subsidy or a maximum of 15% interest subsidy for a period of five years on whichever is less than the value of the livestock unit or the loan per unit purchased by the bank. Under this scheme, interest subsidy of up to 12% is given on loans taken for purchase of 1 to 20 milch cattle. No loan is given to the pastoralist through this scheme. But if the pastoralist has taken a loan to buy milch cattle during the year 206-2, he gets 12% interest on the loan. This assistance is available on loan term up to 5 years.
Who will benefit? : Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and any pastoralist in the state can avail of this scheme for setting up of one to twenty milch cattle units
Gujarat Pashupalan Scheme Eligibility Criteria
The applicant should be from Gujarat state.
The pastoralist should have taken a loan from a nationalized bank for the purchase of 1 to 20 milch cattle.
This loan has been taken during the year 205-2.
Pastoralists will have to apply online to avail the benefits of this scheme.

- Consent form of other farmer in case of joint account holder in 7-12 and 8-A of agricultural land
- Details of the applicant farmer if he is a member of the co-operative society (only if applicable)
- Information if applicant farmer is a member of Milk Producers Association (only if applicable)

How to apply for Animal Interest Assistance Scheme?
- The first beneficiary opened the website https://ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in/. Then click on “Plan”.
- Then "Animal Husbandry Schemes" will have to be opened on Sr. No. 3.
- In the present situation, on serial no. 15% interest subsidy for the establishment of one to twenty milch cattle units in the state.
- Clicking on which will open the next New Page.
- Now you will be asked if you are a registered applicant farmer? In which if you have registered you have to say "yes" and if you have not done so you have to say "no".
- If you have registered earlier as a farmer, you have to apply by entering Captcha Image after entering Aadhaar card number and mobile number.
- If the beneficiary is not registered on i-farmer portal, select 'No'.
- Now the online application form of "Animal Husbandry Scheme" will open. After filling in the complete information, click on save application button.
- Then you have to confirm the application by checking the refilled details. Note that once the application is confirmed, there will be no improvement or increase in the application.
- Beneficiaries will be able to get a printout based on their application after applying online. After getting the print, signature-coins have to be issued.
- Finally, the beneficiary has to upload the required document on ikhedut Portal.
